A Note on Life

Hello All!
So we thought we kind of owed an update on our lives. It's not terribly exciting around here but it's definitely busy! We are approximately half way through the semester (already!). It doesn't seem like it can be possible but it really is already half way over! We both have half semester courses (aka accelerated) so we have finals in about a week and a half. It's unbelievable. Than we start new courses. We both also have some classes that are all semester long so those keep on going strong (woo hoo!).
Right now we are still in North Carolina with Korey's Mom. It's been a blessing for us to not have to sweat the financial end of things as much as before. We are moving back to South Carolina next semester because of the way our school schedule is going to be. It's also very hard to drive approximately 158 miles round trip almost daily. We aren't sure if we are going to get an apartment or stay with Franklin's folks. That has yet to be determined. Mostly we are looking at the financial implications as Korey's school schedule is so demanding it's kind of hard for her to work. So we'll see.
Other than that there isn't much to say. We are pretty excited that we are 1/4 of the way there in our senior year! Woo hoo! May 11th can't get here soon enough for us! Until later!

The First Day of the Rest of our Lives...

Not much to update on here. We've had a pretty good summer. It's been filled with working and that's about it. Anyway tomorrow we are very excited because it's our first day of --- SENIOR YEAR! We are so, so excited. It's hard to believe we are finally here. It seemed like it would never get here, and now we are so close to the end, it's kind of surreal.

Anyhow tomorrow is pretty symbolic. Graduation is May 11th and then we have a summer of a couple courses. Then in the beginning of August Korey has a pinning ceremony and we are officially finished. It's amazing. It seems so far away, yet we know that the semester will go quickly and before we know it we'll be moving on to the next step of our life.

So, here's to the first day of the rest of our lives :)

Another Update

Hey Everyone,
We hope that your summer is going well. Our's has been nice so far. It seems long (for Korey, anyway) because of no school. However it's already June! When did that happen?

Korey got some good news today. Today she had an interview with Wal Mart (yeah, again) and accepted a cashier position, pending her drug test. Anyway that is good news because that means we are both now gainfully employed! YAY!

There is much else going on right now. This coming weekend we are going to the BBQ festival in Tryon NC. It's going to be a fun day of music, games and tasty food :). We are stoked. We are starting to count down until we graduate. Franklin graduates next May and Korey next August. It's going to be an exciting time in our lives. Then we can (hopefully) get our jobs and move right on with our lives. We know we will look back and be thankful we went through school, but right now this end will come as a BIG relief.

Anyway that's all for now. We hope everyone is have a great and comfortable summer thus far!

Things that are going on

Hello Everyone! I know we don't update this thing enough :P Anyway here is what we have been up to over the last little bit.

May 26 we celebrated our second anniversary. We also celebrated another happy event, Franklin got a job at H.H.Gregg! We are very excited and blessed to have this job coming our way.

Franklin has another doctors appointment in July. He is a candidate for the surgery but we are just going to have to wait until we can come up with the money. We are praying that if Franklin can pass a physical with his new jobs insurance maybe we can get them to cover it.

In more news, Korey also has a job interview for a position as a photographer at Olan Mills. We are super excited for her and are praying she gets this position. Then we'd be all set for the summer.

School is going along swimmingly. Franklin is taking summer courses. He's a bit less than thrilled but we know it's almost over. Korey doesn't have summer class this summer but she finds out if she gets accepted into her program this summer. Say a prayer and keep your fingers crossed!

Well that's about it for us. We hope everyone is doing well. We are just trying to enjoy our summer and are looking forward to the end of school! Yay class of 2010!

Update On Franklin

On Monday (5/04/09) Franklin went to see a specialist. His appointment went very well. He is a good candidate for hiatal surgery. He also spoke with the doctor about the financial aspects of getting a surgery. Today Franklin went to get a barium swallow test done. His next appointment is on the 18th of May (after we come back from vacation).

We are going to Myrtle Beach on Monday (11th) and going to take a much deserved and needed break. When we get back, Korey is going to work even harder at finding a job and Franklin will return to classes mid May.

We will keep you updated on Franklin's condition and our lives in general. Our second anniversary is coming up (and we are really looking forward to that). Otherwise, it's just another day in paradise ;)

Love,

An Update on Our Life

I know our last entry as rather vague. I will apologize now, and ask that you all understand that there were a lot of decisions to be made about our situation and what is going with our lives. So since a lot has changed I feel it's only fair to give everyone a full update of the situation.

The decision was in fact made to terminate the house contract. We were blessed to receive our earnest money and application fees back and our realtor was very understanding. We were heart broken to have to give up our dream for our own home, but know that we could not afford the home because Franklin has not been to work since he's become ill. We are now moving back to North Carolina to live with Korey's mom. We had to move out of our apartment because notice had already been given, and there is no way Korey could manage to keep the bills paid on her own (without Franklin's income). We are moving on April 9th 2009.

Franklin is a bit stronger right now, and if he eats the right foods very slowly he can manage to keep them down for the most part (this isn't always true though). He is sustaining mostly on ensure type drinks. He has a lot of discomfort and doesn't sleep well through the night. He does have an appointment to see a specialist but he can't be seen until May 4. He's lost a lot of weight, but we're glad to report he is maintaining now at around 152. The biggest thing is getting calories in him. Below is a video to help understand his condition a little better. Franklin unfortuantly has sever symptoms and seems to be an extreme case.

We'll keep everyone updated and in the loop.

God Bless,

Korey & Franklin
